Just picked up a pristine 2003 Highway 1 telecaster. Honey blonde and what a honey she is.
Nice! Those first generation Hwy1 guitars have become pretty rare!
Very nice! I love the Highway 1s.
Nice .... looks to have a replaced bridge, pickups and pickguard
I knew the pups were not factory but what bridge and guard would have came on it?
I just picked up the same exact guitar last weekend! Same year, same color!
I've got new pickups all picked out....DiMarzio Area T's n&br. and brass bridge saddles..
I'm trying to decide whether to keep on the stock white pg or switch to black.
Your bridge is defiantly aftermarket....the stock one has 3 saddles.
I knew when I bought it I wanted to put on a ash tray with brass saddles like my classic vibe. I will leave the black guard and give the pups a shot. It has a great playing neck.
Are the early ones more desirable? If so why?
Happy New Guitar Day!
I bought a Hwy 1 Tele with rosewood FB right when they first came out. My son fell in love with it when he got back from attending GIT so I gave it to him. It's been his main guitar ever since. It sounds amazing. Great guitars.
Very nice!! Congrats!!
ERrrrrrrrrrrr, was that an ebay snag? I put in a low ball offer on one and it was gone when I checked back. I had a S/B 2003 that I let go. Sorry I did that.
Big Jimmy yes it was. lol
Smaller frets med jumbo, stock pups although not great better than
You can still buy the original bridge just google highway 1 tele bridge. The pickguard should not allow for mounting the pup to the guard, the neck pup on a stock HW1 guitar was body mounted. No biggie!
I really got to give her a good workout through an old twin today and while the wilkinson neck pup sounds quite common im very impressed with the wilkinson bridge pickup.
