This is out for delivery to my door today.

It has long been my dream to have a yellow DC LP jr. like Johnny Thunders. Unfortunately, I can in no way justify spending $5000+ for a real one.

Thankfully, for $220, this is definitely “close enough” for me.

I’ll update once I actually get my hands on it.

Will it be as solid and reliable as Mr. Thunders guitar? Or will it only be as reliable as Mr. Thunders himself? Time will tell....

    But for now... ANTICIPATION!!!

Looks cool. Can I ask, what made you go for the Harley Benton against the other versions of this model?

I'm guessing, it's like Alex Trebek says: "The three Ps: Price, price, and price"

A few things: the price was very right and the design looks closer to the real thing than most. Any other LP jr in that rock bottom price range didn’t look as close to a proper jr as this one, and any that did look pretty good were close to twice as much.

Also, I have been hearing good things about HB guitars and then this video put me over the edge:

Ryan at 60 cycle hum is a pretty straight shooter with his vids, he’s always fairly diplomatic but if he doesn’t like something or just isn’t feeling it with a guitar he will say as much. His positive reaction combined with the sounds I was hearing made me take a chance on importing a $200 guitar.

So between the price, looks, and good feedback from decent folks in the guitar community I was ready to take the plunge.

Congrats. I love a Junior. The 2015 Gibson I had wasn’t for me thanks to the fussy extra features. Juniors are all about minimalism... And that P90 of course! This looks like a really good budget option. Sounds great in that demo.

Looking to your picture, @OttoCorrect , it seems that there is an arm chamfer... Is there also a stomach chamfer ? o_O

    Anyway, nice guitar - congratulations ! ;)

I've got two Harley Benton teles that I love, shockingly good guitars for the money. I been wishing for a couple of years now that they would do a LP jr or jr DC like this and i just saw last week that they finally had. I'm really interested too hear what you think when you get it!

I'm very tempted to get either one of these or one of the SC jrs. If they had them in pelham blue it would be a done deal...

    .

Phil X convinced me to get a Junior (Epiphone Special Junior at the time). Fun video while you wait.
I have heard Thomann will ship (from their Pennsylvania warehouse I guess) from one to three guitars for the same flat $35 shipping fee for all of them.

I've got a Dillion version of this, and it's my best sounding guitar out of 50 +

    Looks nice!
I still have my 1960 double cut Les Paul Jr I bought about 1969 at Big Ben's Pawnshop.....$60 which included the original faux alligator soft case. (the case is long gone :() It is the standard to which I judge all P-90's and Jr-style guitars, but I never play it out because it's not stable enough anymore. (after years of gigging) I now have a PRS SE One to fill that niche.....I added a neck Hot Rail-style p/up, as well as a tone control. (not standard on an SE One)
I can't really justify any additional guitars, but yours sure is tempting.....please report back when you get it.
Like backporchmusic asked.....where did you order it? ;)

The Thomann website, however, I preordered mine in June.

Looks like they tried to leave it while I was away and they needed a signature, so now I need to go to the post office tomorrow and pick it up. I was afraid that might happen. Oh well, New Guitar Tomorrow then. I’ll update tomorrow when I actually have it.

If I didn't already own a Gibson DC Junior, I'd have to buy one of those.

And I can't imagine why these aren't a staple in the Epiphone lineup. Harley Benton is just filling a neglected demand.

EXACTLY. I would already own an Epi if the DC styles existed.

I learned two things with Phil X in this video...

    1) TV Yellow was for Black and White television so the guitar on TV would look, "white". I never knew that, and I always wondered why that color was a thing when I usually call it puke yellow.
    2) UnDiagnosed ADHD in adult guitar players is sometime hilarious to watch.
