Well, I haven’t had a drop of alcohol since January of 2020 so I figured it was about time I went on a bender*. Courtesy of the inimitable Joe Glaser Bender, that is!

The party’s all happening quite aptly on this Fiesta Red American Original ‘60s Tele that I just bought used (with the Bender already installed) from Rumble Seat Music in Nashville.

Serial number dates it to October 2018. Has a few finish dings here and there, with the most prominent one along the back binding where your forearm typically rests. The previous owner also sanded down the gloss on the back of the neck down to a really nice satin finish and feels great. No sticking at all.

You’ll notice a “Layman Drug Co” sticker on the back of the headstock, which is the name of a recording studio in Nashville and this guitar was apparently used in that studio.

This was rather serendipitous because I was looking for a Fiesta Red Tele and was also planning on sending one of my other Teles to Joe Glaser to install a bender and all of a sudden this one popped up and took care of that all in the same guitar!

*Still sober but riding high on the bender!

A steel guitar engagment.
Very cool! I 've wanted to get a Glaser bender installed in one of my Teles since discovering B-benders in general.
I made it as far as getting and messing with one of Will Ray's Hip Shots which is an easy way to get started but I still want that push on the neck action. Some guys say that they over use them at first.
BTW what is the knob with the straight knurl do?

Thank you! I'm still getting acclimated to using it but so far, so good. It's got a very smooth pull to it, but the resistance of the pull is adjustable by turning the screw located at the butt end of the guitar, next to the strap button (pic attached).

The dial on the neck plate is to adjust the actual pitch of the bend on the B string. You can dial it in for a whole step bend, 1/2 step, etc. so it's very versatile in that regard.

Here's a link to the Brent Mason Tele that comes with the Glaser which details everything: https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/...stments_7720618000_Brent_Mason_Telecaster.pdf

Congrats! I have a Brent Mason Signature Tele, and know that you will absolutely love the Glaser bender. I’ve had several benders, and the Glaser is the best. You’ll wonder how you ever got by without it. Have fun!

I would have whipped out the credit card had I seen this first. Huge congrats!
Thanks! Yeah, considering that it's about $650-$700 just for a Glaser Bender install alone (not including shipping to and from Nashville), it was a pretty super deal!
