Hey guys! I’ve always known way more about electric guitars than acoustics, and I still know next to nothing about acoustic guitars, but I finally got a guitar that suits my needs! I don’t play with a pick, primarily finger style so I wanted a smaller bodied guitar. Played the new Gibson L-00 at guitar center and loved it. Found a mint one of Reverb and ordered it after selling a tele I wasn’t playing and a Taylor. This guitar is wonderful! I’ve never played an original Gibson L-00, so I know this one won’t compare. What I love is the wider nut, I’ve never had an acoustic with a 1.75 nut width-very nice to play how I play. This guitar sounds and looks great. Super easy to play, which I was worried about coming from an easy to play Taylor 214. Definitely a huge step up in quality and sound IMO. Not to disparage the Taylor. Anyway, here she is! The walnut grain on the back is beautiful!

Awesome, that walnut you got is pretty sweet!

Played several Gibby L-00s at my local over the last few, and although I'm a Martin guy, have been very tempted. There was a model that was Heritage, something like that, like over $6000, amazing tone. Then they had one that was called the Deluxe, beautiful light burst, fancier lookin all dressed up with an abalone rosette, nice fretboard inlay, rope looking binding, sweetness. Lots of money, sounded fairly good, cool little hard shell case. Had the cash and I was ready to pull the trigger, then clued in that the finger board was richlite and walked away - (sorry Gibson, you really $cr3w3d the pooch with that money saving move, if I'm spending anywhere near that kind of money, don't cheap out, you conniving b@$t3rd$!)

Thank you! If only it sounded as good in my hands as it looks haha I’ve got lots of time to practice now!

I’m surprised the Deluxe was richlite at that price point! My studio is more “budget friendly” although for me it’s the most expensive acoustic I’ve had. I did have a Martin 16-RTGE once which was great, but this Gibson really does it for me. I would not sneeze at a Martin, that’s for sure. Wouldn’t mind a 00-18 one day if I can ever afford it!

I generally like the looks of a dark fingerboard, but the walnut fingerboard on my Gibson is really pretty and feels good, so I’m happy :) no richlite!

Very, very nice guitar! Gibson acoustics are my favorite. No other acoustic "thumps" like a Gibson.

That is a fine looking guitar that I'd like to get my fingers on!

You are going to have a blast playing that baby.

    Yes yes yes.
    I have a J-100 and a J-45.
I’m looking closely at the same guitar you just purchased.

Comes with the LRBaggs VTC, yes?
