2007, Super impressed. Sounds great..the pickups had me interested. They really sound fantastic. Clean is super clean & clear with some nice pop lead tones dimed. Very cool mid position sounds. Super responive to vol & tone control.

Way cool. I think they were wise to put only 2 controls on these with the switch up at the cutaway. The originals clustered these in a way that was really crowded. Folks say those pickups have some power to them.

I feel I need a MM LP too. I don't want to say that is your fault but...........it's your fault!

I've always like the MM, just not sure about the headstock. Certainly a looker tho. Enjoy

How well does it stay in tune? I ask because I played drums in a band with a guy who had one of those, a red one, and the thing wouldn't hold tune at all. I ended up loaning him my Gretsch Pro Jet to play gigs with.

Its holding well. Have about 2 hours on it after a lil neck relief & set up. Really got good with the Gibson's over the last few years & just take my time gradually setting them up over time. Lil relief here & there..action change to suit. make sure the nut is right. The ones i have all keep tune very well. I never tried to get the set up all the first time. Kinda let the guitar fall into to how i use. The tweak small amount. I do keep a screwdriver in the bandroom..always fussing with pick up height..that is where i found a bunch of real nice dialing in. Amazing how a guitar can change with the height adjustments.

absolutely & I thank you. I was on the verge of a Firebird & just couldn't find a match. This & the SG w mini's i got yesterday..really cover some ground i have been venturing into. I do thank you,,cause i really dug into what a single coil Gibson would do after that thread. I play the Nighthawk split more than on the humbucker & love it into fender amps.

I just got lucky when I was looking for a guitar to learn on, in about 1974. Hit a mini jackpot!

Its bittersweet. I was a bass player for many years & had P & J & Ampeg..all i needed. Then had to take up guitar 5 years ago to get the studio project done after guitarist quit. Then we got creamed by dui driver & my wife is so seriusly brain injured i have to be with her 24/7..we have been housebound 4th year. I sold the Harley & that was my gear fund to keep me occupied all day. The guitar thing..geeze..it never ends..does it..lol

If there's anything about this guitar you don't absolutely love, it's also a perfect mod platform. Locking tuners, bridge upgrade... Anything you do will make it shine a little brighter.

I put filtertrons in my MM. I sold it and have regretted it ever since.

Wow - every now and then this forum opens a window into someone else's life that I didn't expect, and reminds me that you never know what someone else's life is like.

The love of my life is also in need of a lot more backup from me than ever before and so I know a slight fraction of what you're going through.

It's a shock to become the one who's being depended upon after being so reliant on her for so long.

I feel ya. No wonder we have compatible tastes!
