    Holy moley that is pretty. Nobody does a burst quite like Gibson does a burst... HNGD!

    Gibson did that as the factory spec to differentiate the 60s version from the 50s versions - also making them look a bit like the popular mod that was done to originals back in the late 60s/early 70s (Jimmy Page and many others replaced the keystone button Klusons with Grovers back in the day).
