Congrats! That's a nice looking one.
Strings are .10-.46 same as I use on my Tele...
Good point, I haven’t looked for a case yet. If I have one nit to pick, it’s that there isn’t much deluxe about the gig bag that comes the guitar.
That’s a beautiful guitar, and a special birthday gift!
You can buy a case.
Congrats on a beautiful G&L ASAT Classic Deluxe. Enjoy and have a great time playing it. That model is my favorite G&L telecaster guitar. Enjoy.
Yup, but did you see the price lol.
I love G&L pickups. Congrats on a beautiful handle.
Obviously you haven't priced a Fender G&G case lately - they start at $199 and go up from there. The G&L case is a US-made G&G for the price of Chinese import case from Fender.
Happy Birth & New Guitar Day!!!
That's a beautiful guitar.
I never priced a G&L case before, and ouch. But the G&L case my ASAT came is very sturdy, on par with the case that came with my PRS Mira. Both feel more solid and better made than my (separately purchased) G&G/Fender blue tweed case (although the blue tweed looks spiffy).
I dig your style, man!
You can't go wrong with either the Special or the Classic. The Special has the best hard tail bridge in existence with the Saddle Lock. The guy who used to run a local jam (RIP) once told me my ASAT Classic sounded more like a Tele than his American Fender Telecaster.
The pickups in the Classic vs the Special are not that much different with the larger soapbar type MFDs in the Special being a bit darker sounding. G&L even offers a Classic with traditional Alnico pickups.
I didn't realize G&Ls didn't come with cases any more. The deluxe G&G custom fit hard case that came with my ASAT Classic lives under the bed anyway since I got the Reunion Blues soft side cushioned case.
If you're going to spend money on a case I would go for the Reunion Blues or Mono.
The Deluxe series doesn't have a case, option order (the usual for G&L until recently) still get cases.
Again, they are an inch or so longer than Strats and Teles so owners need to be careful which aftermarket cases they choose.
If they still offer the G&G hard case like the one mine came with, they are custom form fitted. For a hard case they are pretty good.
This old post from this forum turned me away from hard cases and toward cushioned cases.
Gorgeous guitar. I can't decide whether I like the Tele-size MFDs or the soapbars better. Either one might be the perfect neck pickup. Congrats!
Congrats on the ASAT. I can confirm these G&Ls are rather hard to put down, and harder still to stop at just 1.
I bought my first, an ASAT special in ~1999 and was followed home soon after by a Legacy ~2000 and then in ~2016 an ASAT Classic Semi Hollow.
I love em all.
