Well played, grandson. Grandparents are easy marks. I’m not there yet, but it’s insane how my folks treat my kids.

Sounds like there’s a possibility your parents are making up for lost time.

If you expect less from your family - as in, questionable motives - is that what you get?

I know nothing about your family and you know nothing about the OP’s family.

I do have a lot of respect for kindness, however.

Man that's a heck of a nice first guitar!!! Happy B day to him, and kudos to you for being awesome! He will cherish it the rest of his life, no doubt, and I hope he wears that thing out just like I did my 1st guitar. Played that thing hard for over 30+ years, retired it just a few years ago... which she well earned

My first guitar was a Washburn… a Lyon by Washburn . I believe it was actually from Target lol. But yea. Actual Washburn guitars don’t get the love they deserve. Especially the older ones
