This is my first Gretsch and one of my first times stepping out of the Fender Strat/Tele world. I have wanted a 6120 for many years now and I decided to use my 30th Birthday as a reason to do it.

If you are looking into buying a Gretsch I have to recommend Street Sounds Guitars in Brooklyn NY. I called them up and spoke with the owner who was happy to address any of my concerns about purchasing something I was unable to play first. These guitars are not hanging on the wall for customers to play, he takes them out of the case to photograph for the listing and that’s it. Free shipping, setup, best price, etc. I purchased over the phone. Flawless guitar.

Regarding the guitar it only took a few strums to determine that this is the easiest playing and greatest sounding guitar I have ever played. It’s more than just a honeymoon phase, it’s just so easy to play...I don’t have words to describe the quality. If you are considering one you can’t go wrong with these new Gretsch models from Japan. I can’t conceive how a guitar could be better. The Bigsby is so righteous and this is coming from a strat player who hasn’t put on his whammy bar in like eight years haha.
I love it. Sorry to gush over everything here haha.

I would have liked to get a pic of it with my Tele and Strat but I will have to save it for another day as my strat is in the shop with tone knobs that randomly stopped working. My next goal is to learn to solder and such so I’m not at the mercy of the guitar shop anymore.

I don’t name guitars but I feel like this Gretsch should be called Chester Good

Very nice! I have a set of TVJs in a Squier Strat and they're great in my opinion.

    What a beautiful instrument, congrats!

Great guitar and Rocky at street sounds is a Gretsch legend!

Enjoy the heck out of that beauty. I think all Tele' fans would enjoy a Gretsch in their lives. I love my Jet.

What a beauty! If I were to buy one that would be the one, it is simply gorgeous. That's a lifetime guitar right there. Ivy would be proud!

    Whoa... that is perfect. Congrats!

That's the exact model and color that's next on my list. Mind if I ask how much?

I bought a vintage select 62 Duo Jet last year and I have to agree with you. The Japanese Gretsch guitars are incredibly well made instruments. Congrats!

Oh yeah! Con-Gretsch-ulations, a fine, fine guitar. I'm lucky enough to own the same VS model, and I agree with everything you said. All you need is a Tru-Arc Serpentune like this for the unwound G string :)
