Nice guitar. I have a non-Jr jet club, basically the 2nd(?) cheapest electric Gretsch makes, and the quality is astonishing.

Wow, gorgeous guitar. I love my Cabs and recently got my first p90 guitar in the shape of a lpj type. A combination of both pup styles would be a real beast.

Quality looks good as well and the colour is lovely. I always wrote Gretsch off as a bit old school and rockabilly but the GAS is building.

    Very cool!

Humbucker and p90 are a really good combination that isn't done enough imo.

The control layout is a bit odd though...

Thanks for the mod thread. I had seen that whilst researching. I will definitely check it out again.

Re. the neck, it's just under 43mm at the nut and has a 12" radius. It isn't chunky at all and feels great. The fretboard is smooth and the glossy back of the neck isn't sticky at all.

I must admit at first sight I wasn't sure about the retro look but now I'm digging it.

There's nothing not to like about this guitar for me so far.

Hope the above post answers this for you. The pickup combination is what I was looking for as we play a lot of different genres musically. With this I can switch from country to jazz to R'nR and anything in between. The P90 really comes into play with a bit of OD.

They should call that one the Eddie Cochran Junior model.

My girlfriend painted it for me, back when I was going to try my hand at a small pedal/amp production. I had another bud box with a little metropolitan on it. She did a number of really nice paint jobs, And when we meet new guitar players I’m always proud to bring up the fact that she knows the difference between tube screamer and sonic distortion Green, ha! This one’s getting two stomps on the outside corners, And two small 3 mm or maybe little pin points probably in the blinkers, with inputs and outputs along the sides for a ‘loop buss’ get it wink wink nudge nudge, haha

I’ve got a G5220 I picked up from CL. It is my first Gretsch and I am constantly blown away by the build quality and those roaring Blacktop Broad’trons! My only hitch is I had to remove that classy ‘guard because it got in my way. I have a lot of sub $1000 guitars and that is always right the at the top. Enjoy!

That's a nice guitar - I'm more and more tempted to look out for a Gretsch.....this isn't going to end well...

I love that mint color, and the top binding looks classy. I've played a couple in stores and was quite impressed. I will likely be getting one when I can grab it used or on sale!

Gorgeous! p90s rock. Simple is good. I have a ProJet with filtertrons which needed a treble bleed. I think they put those in stock now. I find the Jet necks to be perfect, not too fat, not to thin, and shaped just right.

I have a SD p90 in my Pacifica guitar for worship, nothing does fat and juicy better. I think you've got a great combo in that guitar. Rock on!

top to bottom my jazz guitar with the flat wounds, Epi spruce top, and technically not P 90s but in that same vein two custom Seymour jazz master pick ups that my buddy Who builds guitars had them wind for him. It was when he was on his Firebird style builds with overwound p90’s. I guess he was going to do some with jazz master pick ups also as he had scored a couple hits with some nice guitars for Rusty Anderson with McCartney. These are out of my mahogany body Tele that’s taken apart for rewiring and a cheesy white chalky finish if I get around to it. As I say, “if I can’t fix it I’ll fix it so nobody else can!”

That looks like it would really mate well with One of those Silvertone 1240 or 1480 or whatever, Not the large bassman like ones but The little single 12 with two piece square cut out fiberboard baffle tube amps with the great trem, and I think two 6V6’s? Great raunchy distortion when they’re turned up!
