Last Saturday after checking online for road worn Telecaster's I found one at an Open Box price.

I had tried one of the Fender Road Worn Purple Metallic Telecaster's at a local GC and loved the neck

and the sound but not the price.

I saw the Open Box come up and bought it for about 40% off the selling price.

Then as I purchased it I saw that I got another 10% off. Even better.

I haven't seen it or a picture yet. It's due in on Wednesday.

Will post pics and a review when it arrives!

Same here. Having owned a few bajas (two 50s & a 60s) in the past, just wanted to see if they were still similar so I played one a while back in the aVille GC.

The finish was so much nicer in person than they show in pics. A looker fur sure.

    Excellent price on it.

I really liked the looks of these but I didn't care for the feel of the neck.

Fantastic! If you got it for 50% off the MSRP, then you did great! Those are magnificent guitars. I like the necks on those too -- so much that I recently bought one of the Road Worn 50's Tele necks for a partscaster project. Enjoy!

Tracking it, so far it looks like it should be here on Wednesday. I finally saw one Picture but it really didn't show any detail. Hoping it's good shape when it arrives. Being an open box guitar usually means there are some scratches or dents involved.

Delivery day is today! Looking forward to seeing and playing the Purple Road Worn Telecaster!

I found a Pic on the site, not sure if it's the one that I bought though!

I like those purple Teles. I just wish they were not road worn.

Nice find! Looking forward to the "real thing" when it comes in.

Congrats those are nice guitars. I got one from MF that was not 100% perfect so I sent it back. It was nice I just thought at full price to replace the nut was t worth my time. When that comes in see if the nut is filed down and the grooves are barely there. Was that on MF?

Received the Fender Road Worn Purple metallic Telecaster today.

Everything seems intact. No major dents or scratches except for the relicing.

One of the tuners had shifted, I loosened the screws and it went back into place.

The fret ends need attention, I prefer them more rounded over. There are light spots along the edges

that looks like someone attempted to file the fret ends down and filed the wood.

The neck has a nice worn in feel. The action and Intonation was set at 4/64 at the 15th fret.

I haven't tried it in an Amp yet..

I really Really hope that fender makes a roadworn 60’s version!!

that color would be nice with a pauferro or rw board neck!

i had the rw60’s strat and it was the most fun i ever had with the strat!

I think I got your guitar from MF(open box). The nut on the bass side is real low and the E string sits up pretty high.

I probably will replace the nut and do a complete fret level.

I got it at a pretty good discount and I can do the fretwork.

Needs strings bad, at the 6th and 7th frets on the e & a strings there are dents in the strings.

It buzzes along the dents so I think that's it.

The relief is set a little to flat for my style of playing too!

I bet that’s it. I just didn’t want repair it So I sent it back. Ain’t that a hoot! I got an American professional after that. But I did not get as good a deal as you on the purple one. I got as good of a deal on the American pro. And I do not do good guitar work so it would have cost me more money. I cant do frets. Also it was not as light as the one in GC. So I teetered for a while repacked it and sent it back. Enjoy, I bet you will make it awesome. It certainly has the potential.

You must be from Pittsburgh! I did try the one at GC in Monroeville and indeed it was a little lighter.

I just changed the e & a strings as they were shot. I want to give the neck a little more relief and see if the buzzing stops. If so, the fret job can wait.
