It sure felt like a lucky day yesterday. I got a call from my boss saying that I'm getting an unexpected bonus at work due to production. My wife says 'buy yourself something.'

Now I'm not a rich man and bonus doesn't necessarily mean Gibson money. But I've been wanting a silverburst Les Paul for ages and had decided I'd be happy to get an Epiphone to scratch that itch.

Reverb had one in good condition at the top end of my price range and the seller didn't want to haggle. I countered his counter offer and he declined.

I don't see a lot of these for sale on Reverb and when I do they are often for local pickup. This was the only one that would ship. I thought I'd come back at the guy with his last offer but decided to check GCs website first.

Sure enough they had a used silverburst, at my local store, for over a hundred bucks less than the Reverb seller wanted. Was able to check it out, play it, look for any cracks other issues.

Well she played fine. Not the butter I've experienced on other, very expensive, Les Pauls. But I was in love anyway. I brought her home last night and restrung her. She already plays nicer than she did at the store.

Beautiful guitar! Epiphone is making some quality stuff as of late, you can't go wrong with them. Congrats!

Nice guitar. Like the little orange amp and cab. Just nice for practicing with.

That’s very cool, and a nice little set up to go with it. Congrats.

When was the LP built, and what are the pickups? Just a curiosity thing, as I'm a long-time Epiphone fan.
Sweet guitar, love the 'Custom' diamond headstock inlay

It's a '13. I haven't pulled them to check so I'm just assuming at this point that they're the stock p'ups, which I believe were ProBuckers.

    Dig it! that sounds right.

My buddy and I just got new ( used) SG Pros - his is from 2013 (lefty!) and mine is a 2018. This model comes with the Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers, which I think are supposed to be similar to Gibson '57 Classics, and yours, closer to Gibson Burstbuckers

    No matter there-
bottom line both of these ( and the 500K pots) are IMO a real step up in quality and brighter ( not muddy) tone- really responsive.
Definitely much better than the previous Epis I've owned.

Nice score! That's a beautiful guitar. If my Epi gold top is any indicator, you should be able to get it playing as well as the best guitars you've ever played.

Congrats. I have a couple of expensive guitars, but these three Epiphones are my workhorses. IMG_4071.JPG

congrats she is beautiful , I had the same expirience with my firebird, I found one I could convert to lefty and it doesnt look weird upside down, plus I was able to fit a harmonica bridge on it and the intonation fell right into place, enjoy!
