It sure felt like a lucky day yesterday. I got a call from my boss saying that I'm getting an unexpected bonus at work due to production. My wife says 'buy yourself something.' Now I'm not a rich man and bonus doesn't necessarily mean Gibson money. But I've been wanting a silverburst Les Paul for ages and had decided I'd be happy to get an Epiphone to scratch that itch. Reverb had one in good condition at the top end of my price range and the seller didn't want to haggle. I countered his counter offer and he declined. I don't see a lot of these for sale on Reverb and when I do they are often for local pickup. This was the only one that would ship. I thought I'd come back at the guy with his last offer but decided to check GCs website first. Sure enough they had a used silverburst, at my local store, for over a hundred bucks less than the Reverb seller wanted. Was able to check it out, play it, look for any cracks other issues. Well she played fine. Not the butter I've experienced on other, very expensive, Les Pauls. But I was in love anyway. I brought her home last night and restrung her. She already plays nicer than she did at the store.
