Got it for the graphics - it’s a cheapy otherwise. Tried two others before, but those were old and rough - this one is in good condition.

Like it as a player too - and it’s the first sg that doesn’t neckdive on me! Just a nut issue (see other thread) and a setup away from getting played a bunch.

Anyone else got one or something similar? Did your need work (if yes: what)? Mods done?

Not thought about those in years! We used to sell them when they were new, everyone else in the shop hated them but I used to insist we kept it in stock - bit of a goth, but if a fan of kitch cartoony things so they were right up my alley.

They were just G310s under the graphics, weren't they? I'd get some humbucker sized P90s and replace the wiring loom and I bet it'll sizzle!

    Congrats, love it.

I was looking at one available locally once, but I didn't get it.

Is it heavier than a regular SG?

It’s a 310, yeah. Seems lighter than the sgj I once owned.

Bought a Hannah Montana... ruined the body not paying enough attention with a chisel. Still have the neck.

Have a complete Spongebob Squarepants, just need some upgrade parts, a bit of fretwork, swap the single coil for a humbucker and then I'll see if it was worth it :)

The biggest issue with these guitars is it's almost like the makers deliberately set out to disappoint lefty kids.

I think the Emily guitar is plywood.

Mine is plywood and is of a decent weight.

After some silly mods (everything from a rotary vari-tone switch to Phat Cats and few different humbuckers) I settled for some Kent Armstrong P90s and a bone nut and find it to be a nice little guitar. The only hitch is that it would probably help for the bridge to be about 2mm back or so, since it still intonates sharp even with the 3rd and 6th saddles all the way back. Will eventually get a dedicated wraparound to fix things, but I've been lazy.

And speaking of the recent K-pop thread, my G310 has also had some K-pop mileage, once back in 2011, as featured in a local Converse catalog ad with Naeun and the ladies from Apink...

...and just last month it was once again used as a prop with the superstars-of-the-day BTS, so I should have some pics to share come February or so ;)

Would Dan Spitz's TMNT Jackson count?

I always wanted to do one based on Norwegian goth cartoon Nemi - probably inspired by the Emily guitars, now I think of it. I still might, one day...

Reminds me of Henriette Bordvik, former singer of Norwegian band Sirenia.

Not heard of them before but that's right up my street, I'll have to have a proper listen to them.

I was a big fan of this band back in the 90s, seems like they have a fair bit of common ground:

Interesting, I don't think I've ever heard them before, but I've heard of them.

The one I posted is more metal though. Here's more Norwegian gothic metal, different band but same violinist.

Did that one even come with the original strap? I've seen a lot of them come with the ggbag but not the strap.

I'm honestly not too versed in what's available, but anything that fits the posts and can extend the entire scale length should suffice for me.

    We'll see what fits.
