It has been forever since I've posted on here, but I just needed to pop in and share this with the only folks who would get it. I have searched for this Telecaster many years, and have been quite picky about both condition and price. Couple that with life sometimes getting in the way (more like me letting it ☺️) and this one became something of a Holy Grail.

Happy to say that I will search no more. Recently acquired this very near-mint 2011 American Vintage Reissue 1962 Custom Telecaster in black. I have a '99 Blonde American Standard Telecaster, and I am amazed at how differently this one feels, looks, and plays. I have AVRI offsets, so I am used to the radius and fret size, but this one has a different vibe.

Just picked it up from my tech who set it up for 11s, swapped for a six-saddle bridge and updated the wiring to a modern configuration.

Cheers y'all. Meet Dressy Bessie!

Hey that's my dream tele too! I got mine a few years ago, a 2000 model year, in worse condition than that one so good on you for holding out. Black double-bound with a rosewood fretboard is THE BEST look for a tele! ENJOY!

(the pickups in these are the best kept secret in the tele universe, so keep your voice down and don't let anyone else know... they're very affordable when you can find them)

I'm finding that out too. Such a different beast than the standard. Firmly answers the question, "Do I really need two Teles?"

Beautiful guitar! My 2011 AVRI 62 Custom Tele is the best playing/sounding guitar I've ever played.

Thank you, that's wonderful to hear. Seller basically just stored it, so I was hoping it wasn't a tone dud. So far, it hasn't disappointed, looking forward to gassing it this weekend.
