Well, I can't seem to go out to Desperadoville without coming back with something (or committing to do so 'next time')!

Yesterday, the long awaited pick-up of a Capril Orange (Crush!) Tele! This is my first rosewood board, and I must admit, I am liking it! These are also my first Bill Lawrence pickups (these are the L-280TL/TNs -- no cover on the neck pickup). Me likey!

I was especially glad to stop in and see Tony yesterday (and SWMBO always enjoys the trip, if not the exchange of ca$h for gee-tars)!

So here she is ... Nice color for the Fall!

    Specifications:
Ultra light Paulownia Body (3lb6oz), Orange Urethane Finish
Nitro-finished neck with 10inch Rosewood board, Medium-C Top Truss adjust
    6105 Frets (22)
Fender Amp knobs on controls, white switch cap
Bill Lawrence L280TL (Bridge) and L280TN (neck)
    Sealed tuners, clear-pearloid knobs
Wilkinson Vintage bridge w/Brass Compensated saddles
CTS 250K pots (.022 cap), Oak-Grigsby 3-way switch, Switchcraft jack, Electro-socket Jack Cup
    Total finished weight: 6-lbs EVEN!

Beautiful! Very nice! I use the no cover L280TN in the neck of 2 of my teles and its the best neck pickup I've ever heard.

    Have fun!

I believe Tony told me that it was. It's a great body, and Tony did a superb job of crafting all the pieces-parts together. I tell you this ... I'm not a rosewood guy, and not a 'C' profile neck guy (like 'em fat), and not really a big fret guy, and definitely not a fan of knobs that aren't, well, Tele-knobs ... but there's something about this guitar that makes it more than the sum of its parts. I cannot stop playing the sucker! I'm running it through my Egnater Tweaker (VOX Vintage setting) and she just sings.

Beautiful...but...there's something going on with these pics and the body shape.

First, the bottom horn to neck distance seems excessive.

Second, the whole bottom section of the body seems larger. Am I high?

    Love the gitah!

I'm guessing that's just the wide-angle lens perspective.

    Love the color!

You picked a winner there. I played that guitar at Tony's shop a while back. Great feel, great sound, very light weight. And beautifully set up. Tony has a bunch of little set up tricks, detailing, that just make a Tele feel good in your hands, and this one has them all.

My first Tele, is Candy Tangerine with Rosewood board.. Love at first site! After playing the one Rob D had at his place I've been waiting for GFS to get some more finished bodies.. When I first started looking at them the Capri Orange was the only one they had and I wanted something else.. I'm seeing that I screwed up .
