I found this locally (my small town) and it was dirt cheap. Fun '90s hollow body two pickup shred machine.

Really under-rated guitars. It sounds fantastic, even with old strings. I like it.

i'v never owned one but i've always liked playing them.

one thing to be aware of: a buddy of mine bought a used one with an aftermarket bigsby already installed. the arm tends to smack into the knobs.

Nice find. It's nice that it has the adjustable metal bridge. I had a DC 59 for a little while, but the bridge kept collapsing. The bridge on yours is supposed to be more stout than the thin metal/rosewood one mine came with.

Congrats on a new axe. Looks good from here. I’ve never played a Danelectro but have been intrigued by them

I've had my '56 U2 since the reissues came out in the late '90's.

Bought it as I had maybe read 'quirky guitar' things about Danos, plus it looked cool.
I learned very quickly what a versatile, great sounding, comfy guitar it is.

Have used it alot for Swing Blues, Classic R&R, Country. I even used it Summer 2018, for 40 onstsge dates ( with a Vox Pathfinder) in a Patsy Cline play. Sounds great clean or dirty, only thing not stock are the tuners, which I replaced after a few years.
No issue with bridge/Rosewood saddle, intonation and setup have been great 22 years.
    Love it! 20200505_183343.jpg

Niccccceeeeee! I have one the same aqua burst. I bought mine with the Dirty Thirty amp and tweed soft case. I use mine as a slider in regular tuning. I can melt paint with it through a 5 watt amp.....lol Have fun!!!!

Yea, the short scale makes it really fun to play. I would up shimming the nut on mine, it was starting to buzz pretty bad....the strings on mine are......probably 6-7 years old....rusty and nasty.... Sounds fine. :)

that's a beautiful color! I've got a black one with the rosewood bridge. these are lots more versatile than one might think, and they are just really fun to play.

Great guitars, if I could only have one guitar it would be a Dano U2 or DC59.

    play loud and enjoy

Master volume, master tone, metal bridge (not wood) with separate adjustable saddles... all means that it was made after 2005. I think.

The late 90s versions look like the one the @Chiogtr4x posted.

Regardless... I’ve always wanted one and would rock the snot out of it.

Okay, I played it tonight again, fully electric and loud. I'm pretty impressed at how really good it sounds. Fun to mess around with.

Cheap Korean made early '90s slap box.

Different than the usual Tele sound.

Played one on a store once, love the middle position! Lipsticks are in a class of their own. Big Danelectro fan, though I favor the double cuts.

Bought my son one in the 80s- love 'em. Those lipstick pickups are great. Well worth having one. Rick Beato uses his more than any of his others ( see Youtube).
