I bought this off Reverb last week.
The guitar showed up today, and it's pretty damn nice.
I wanted a mahogany body,so I went used. This one appears to have been made in 2010.

Very sweet! The natural mahogany ones look way prettier in real life than in the stock photos.

I always wanted a Thinline with Mahogany body and Wide Range pickups but found out that they're none. My musical hero Tab Benoit I thought had one at least seeing some pictures but it's just that his guitar was so old and busted that it looks like a mahogany body :rolleyes:

    Congrats on your buy

Congrats on that beauty! I've honestly never seen a mahogany Thinline before, that is a real stunner, looks awesome with the maple neck.

I think the CV Thinline were mahogany until about two years ago.

Owned one just like it for a number of years, sold it to a friend in order to help finance another purchase. Almost wish I hadn't. At least I know where she is.
I recommend compensated brass saddles and a 4-way switch, because I always do, even though you will have to elongate the switch slot.
The saddle swap made a dramatic difference in the sound of the guitar, more so than the switch.
    Congratulations. Nice ax, indeed.

    That's really nice, congratulations!

I'm curious about the mahogany body, does it provide a tonal "signature"?

I have an opinion that a mahogany neck does, and I'm curious about the body.

    Happy NGD!

    Nice guitar!

Have always wished I had gotten one before they stopped making them with the mahogany body. Beautiful guitar.

It isn't terribly bright, thats for sure.
I am still dialing in my amps for the guitar.
The clean sound is really nice. Nice mellow, airy sound.
The body design might have more to do with that.
Great for rhythm work in all 3 switch positions.

    Nice little Tele.

I was listening to Tab today and realized he plays a Thinline. He is from about an hour away from me but I have yet to see him live.

You're in for a fabulous time I had the chance to see him during the New Orleans Jazz Heritage festival 5 years ago under the blues tent right after John Mooney (another favorite of mine) and the show was awesome Tab is an incredible singer and a very energetic guitar player.

Congrats! I have a CV Thinline just like that - also from 2010. I also have an early production CV50 and an early CVC. All 3 are great guitars, but I think the Thinline may be the best. Although they have identical pickups, the CVT and CVC do sound different and I prefer the Thinline. I also like the shape and feel of the Thinline neck better than the others.

    Enjoy!:)
