After selling a bunch of guitars and amps I bought a Collings CJ.

it's simply the best acoustic I've ever played.

    Congrats, indeed!
Collings makes some wonderful(if pricey) acoustic guitars.
I've only seen, held, played a couple CJs, but, I hafta say, that sunburst is way nicer looking than most. The fit and finish, overall quality, and tonal response from Collings guitars is impressive.
Is that a brand new one, or one that's been around a while?

Absolutely gorgeous guitar! I will say though that as much as I love slope shoulders, the Collings slope shoulder I once played sounded nothing like a J45, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on what you like! Congrats and enjoy!

That's a beautiful burst. I also have a Collings CJ (mahogany back and sides). I love mine. I'm sure you will have a long and happy relationship with yours. Is it rosewood or mahogany?

Congrats. The CJ is among the best acoustic guitars I've ever played. Unfortunately, didn't have the scratch to buy it at the time. Every Collings I've had a chance to play has been has been excellent. One day...

Nice, collings are one of those brands where the expenditure is truly reflected in craftsmanship. Did you go with the short scale?

Additionally I just ordered the poor man's version (eastman e10ss). Admittedly, not so poor...

    Nice looking guitar.

I have a Collings Clarence White model (#688) that is among the finest guitars I have ever played.

They seem to do everything well.

I bought it from Owen in Someneck Guitars. having checked the I'd it's a 2003.it must have been out of its case about once a year. It is a long scale with mahogany back and sides
