I have one other Strat, a Classic Players 60s w the lacquer finish on sunburst, rosewood - just a stunner. Saw this one and I was just drawn to the Maple on Blue color scheme - that and that is was half the price of a new Vintera. This one is a 2018. Has the Soft-V neck, which I love and formerly had with a Jimmie Vaughn Strat that I parted with way too soon. This is very different from the 60s in feel but sonically not too far off, although they are strung differently. Small blemish/nick on upper horn, otherwise flawless. Neck looks roasted but doubt it - just darker than most I've seen. Not a fan of the single ply guard/cover, but won't swap those immediately.

I think this one might be the workhorse as I baby that 60s just because of how good it looks. Need to put new set of string on it and get used to the neck again - so different from the 60s.

Still on the honemoon, but so far so good....

That's not a Classic Player anything. It's probably a Classic 50s Stratocaster. If so, it's a fine guitar, but most everything on it is different from the CP50s including the neck. If you dig it... excellent!

Yes, sorry, got the title wrong: 2018 Classic Series 50s Stratocaster (not Classic Player, which is the other one I have that I referenced in the post.)

Fenders naming schemes are never confusing....

...and sadly, I cannot update the post title....

Fender must have an entire department devoted to confusing product naming. I'll bet they're especially proud of accomplishments like one Tele pickup with two names (Texas Tele and Texas Special), and two Tele pickups with the same name (a different Texas Tele and Deluxe Drive).

Thanks, I was considering a CP50 neck and I saw this thread and went “oh it’s not too light after all.” But I guess not.

I really, really dig the neck on my CP50s. I bought another new, replacment CP50s neck for a hardtail build that I'm procrastinating over.

If it's the neck tint you're referring to, the CP50s neck has none. This isn't the best picture, but the flat of the heel is the original color and to the left of that you can see how the polyurethane had darkened between 2012 and 2016.
