    Absolute perfection. Congratulations.

What comes to mind is my 1973 Datsun 510 two door butterscotch I had in the 70s-80s.

Wow. Just wow. What are you plans? If I owned that guitar I'd hate to play it... I'd also hate not to play it!

Very cool then if it is all original...it is in great condition.Any chance you can pop off the pickguard and take a pic to see if the finish is paler underneath.I am curious if it was even paler when brand new and yellowed a bit to what it is now or did it really keep that same color for 70 years.

    Woah - amazing, congrats!

I love ECG.....I try and visit every time I'm in the states, and have seen that amazing guitar a few times.

Actually I just looked back through my phone, and here's the first ever pic I took of what is now my '59 Esquire. In background top right is your new beauty :)

Definitely plan on playing it all I can. And yes, I ordered a Calton case.

For sure, scalloping the neck and routing the body for a Kahler this weekend. Then it’s EMGs all the way, baby!

Maybe someone is, but that person is not me. I have a very good tech (Fender certified etc etc), will be going through it with him. I’ll let you know :)

When I go through it with my tech, I’ll have him take it off and I’ll get a photo. I don’t trust myself with 70-year-old screws and plastic :)

Yeah, trust me everyone: you don’t want me going anywhere near a 70-year-old guitar with any kind of tool except a Tortex pick.

The 510 was the Japan's '55 Chevy. Utilitarian, fun, moddable.
