NGD--Black and Chrome Squier Standard Telecaster, I think

    Got one of these used, for next to nothin':

    At least, that's what I think it is--mine has a white pickguard (that looks like it had to be whittled down a bit to fit around the control plate) and skirted Fender amp knobs.

    Plays and sounds great. Nice sounding pickups, and very lively and resonant. I love the black headstock, and I think a black pickguard might be a nice touch; maybe some darker tinting of the rosewood board to look like ebony (leather dye?) and faux white binding with automotive pinstriping. I totally wasn't in the market for another guitar, but couldn't pass it up, especially for under $150; I mean, come on.

    I put a light coat of walnut oil today on my fretboard and it looks much better--as cool as a jet-black fingerboard would look on this guitar, I know it'll be a messy, time consuming pursuit. The oil darkened up the dry rosewood quite a bit, and feels great. Still might go for the pinstriping.
