I always wanted a guitar that was my age or older. Finally happened. It's the 3rd strat I've owned and theres definitely some magic in these fullerton pickups and craftsmanship. The online community has some hate on these 2 knobs but also plenty of fans. I always leave knobs on max anyways so doesnt matter to me how many. Can't believe how good the positions 2 and 4 are, usually they are my least favorite.

I'm lucky that 83 seems to be just recent enough its not "vintage prices" but still in the Fullerton factory. Hope you get your '52 and I want one of those for my "guitar born before me"

sweet that thing is clean- I have one of those 83's -my first good guitar. I like that thin neck and the pickups sound great to me-just roll back the tone knob

Does yours hum at all? I'm wondering if these have the dummy pickups like the Elite 83's had cause mine is quieter than my tele that has noiseless pickups... even with gain. havent tried metal gain yet but its so quiet for a single coil!

It also had this really cool sticker on the back. The seller from reverb said the person who gave it to them thought it was cool but didnt know. I looked up the store and theres a new store with similar name. Emailed them and they said it for sure came from that store. So somehow in 83 it made its way to Germany to be sold at least once or twice before making its way back to california where I purchased it from.

    That sticker is way cool!

Seems to be more common on guitars in Europe, once in a while you’ll see a USA store

    Adds to the story/history

It was very interesting to think that this might have somehow found its way from communist east germany but the store ended up being right on the edge of france!

    Congrats!

When I couldn't afford almost anything at least the 1979 25th Anniversary models were affordable. Now that I have grown so have their prices..

That's a sweet axe. That period is becoming highly rated in vintage guitar circles. Congrats!

Suprisingly after sunburst or black, the vintage blond (which they were calling Ivory I think but it ages into the blonde) is the most common. There were about 3 or 4 blonds between the strats and teles avail on ebay/reverb in the past month.

Damn I've seen some 78's for reasonable price. Its weird how from year to year it fluctuates based on so many afterthought variables. You should get one now! Its only going up in price.

I wouldn't mind a birthyear strat, but it would be a tad expensive for me.
