Finally pulled the trigger and got a new Baja Telecaster!!!

I’m a beginner and really excited to take what I’ve learned on my acoustic and apply it to my new Tele.

Enjoy all the ways in which the two are nearly identical and radically different!

You've made a good choice. Lots of sounds in those things.

I think a Tele is perfect for a first electric - and you chose a fantastic Tele!

Welcome and HNGD! A Baja is a great tele!

On the Acoustic Guitar forum teles deservedly have the reputation of the best gateway drug from acoustic to electric. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it a lot!

Great first electric -- not much ground you can't cover with a Baja.

"Baja with a great Body" sounds like a girl I once knew. Oh, and the guitar is very nice also.

    So a couple things:

    1. Thanks!
    2. After playing an acoustic for so long my left hand is really mashing the strings. The action on the Tele is soooo much lighter. I guess that’ll take some adjustment.
    3. I think I need some shielding and/or better grounding. I get a buzz thru the amp that goes away when I touch the strings or any other metal on the guitar.
    4. I bought a Boss Katana amp and am astounded at all the different sounds I can get.

    Really enjoying this.

Congrats and welcome to electrics! In regards to #3, I just got a Baja and am having the same issue. From a quick search on here it seems to be a common problem that can go away in time. There are some things that can be done to eliminate or reduce it if you can't wait.
