i just bought a new Baja tele and it sounds and plays good. But what is killing me is how heavy it is, Les Paul heavy and I don’t know if I can accept the fact that it has a 5 piece body. This is sad on a guitar of this price and caliber. My squire affinity body has 4 pieced.

I had a Baja, 4-pc. BSB, i can see the grains and where the wood was glued together at the back, Heavy.

But it sounded amazing. Bothered me at first then I didnt care anymore how many pieces it was, it sounded amazing through whatever amp I plugged into.

Got a wider strap and just played. Sold it bec I had to fund my wedding. I tried to buy it back but the new owner doesnt want to sell, and I tried a new Baja in store, didnt feel as good as the one I had.

The weight I can see being an issue, but pieces? I wouldn't give a rats arse.

How heavy you talking? My TE-80 Prinz copy is 10lbs.

    I’m
gonna weigh it today but feels close to 10lbs. A 5 piece body on a $150 Squier is one thing, on a $825 guitar without a hard case is not acceptable to me. I have owned dozen of teles from Squier to CS and in this price point 3 piece body should be the max and should be in the 8lb range.

    I feel your pain, man.
I dislike heavy, multi-piece bodies, too.
You could always order a light weight, one or two
piece body from Warmoth or other supplier.
