Came across this at a pawn shop today. Cleaned it up a bit and put some new strings on it. Nice fat neck that is comfortable to play. It’s a Korean made Mockingbird NJ Classic series. I think its a 2005 model but serial number info on post 1980’s B.C. Rich’s seems very spotty. I’ve always liked this body style but never had a good reason to buy one. The price I got this thing for changed that and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve just been using Vox Amplug cause I’m out of town for work right now but it sounds fantastic. The bridge pu has some real bite to it. Reminds me of an an EMG 81 equipped Ibanez I used to have. can’t wait to get home and try it out on a real amp.

The bridge is surprisingly clean and crisp compared to my other humbucker guitars. Open chords sound very clear even with distortion. I think its gonna be a good guitar for strait up ACDC style hard rock.

Always, always loved Mockingbirds...one of the coolest guitar designs in existence, and by far the best design BC Rich ever put out there.

Nice. That's one of the guitars I used to dream about owning back when I was a long-haired metal head.

That's because the pickup layout on that brand is the same as a Gibson SG.

It's also why some buyers of PRS guitars complain they got the 24 fret model and it doesn't sound like a LP ... because the pickup locations alter the tone.

The MIK guitars are very nice, your BC Rich looks exceptional.

I don’t know if he used it first but I think he used it some for recording and played it on tour some.
