Over the weekend I stumbled my way into a NOS Jimmy Page Mirror tele for an absolute steal. They had two in stock and initially I gravitated towards the lighter of the two until I saw the neck on this one!

As far as my thoughts: Overall fit and finish is immaculate, and like all the recent reissue Fenders I own on par with CS. After setting up to my liking it plays effortlessly. I admit before this year I avoided vintage radius like the plague, but I’ve got the action set to 4/64th at the 12th fret and can do full step bends and them some without choking out. The neck profile itself is comfortable despite the fact I prefer big fat necks like the esquire. I’d never played a top loader before and the slinky feel is unbelievable and absolutely noticeable. And the tones coming from this are spectacular, nice full sounds with a bit more scoop and top end than my other teles without sounding ice-picky. Overall a great addition to my less-than-normal tele gang. Some day I’ll round things out with a nice blackguard but for now at least I’ve got an ash body and standard pickup layout. 4F1093B1-1EAB-4933-A747-F5E0B36BEE60.jpeg
Here’s the whole family: 70th anniversary esquire, JP, GH, AO Custom, and my G&L asat special semihollow

Very nice. That G&L color is cool as well.

Thanks, I ordered that one several years pack. Turquoise flake with matching headstock, swamp ash semihollow body, large C neck with rosewood board, and their trem bridge.

Congratulations on your JP Tele. Lovely neck on that.

That’s a nice collection you’ve got going. You’ve got good taste. I’ve been eyeing those AO Customs you have for about 2 years now (but in the Mocha finish), but always seem to buy another guitar besides that one when time comes. Someday…..

Very nice collection, but where are you Teles for Friday and Saturday?

Also agree with you on the fit and finish of the reissue guitars. They are done to a very high standard.

Thank you. I actually was looking for a mocha but lucked into the blonde at an incredible price around the start of COVID. I got a similar deal on the esquire too as the small shops really took a beating unfortunately. If you have the chance to grab one I can’t speak highly enough of the custom, the pickups are fantastic.

Haha fair point, the rest of my guitar collection needs attention too though!
