Very cool looking strat, congratulations!
Sandblasted sunburst? How cool is that?!!
I'm kinda curious how this is achieved. A tele would look great like this.
Happy NGD!!! Sometimes, you just gotta break the rules, right?
do they make teles like that?
I'm such a tightwad, pretty much the only time I pull the trigger on anything is after I've had a few. Research and get everything ready to go while sober but I'd never actually buy it unless I had a good buzz going. I kinda rely on it. Otherwise I wouldn't have much gear.
What color does Fender call it?
Wow! Wild looking guitar! Congratulations!
I AM a Strat guy and it's a visual stunner, but I think I'd have to live with one a while to know whether I loved it or hated it! That 70's style headset really stands out because it's the only visible light thing surrounded by so much dark on the front of that guitar. I was curious to learn more so I checked them out online, which led me to Sweetwatwr and you really got the best looking of what they had, at least compared to the two they're showing at the moment - your joined pieces of wood run together pretty seamlessly while the two they have have extremely unmatched pieces that creat a sort of jarring non-transition. My sunburst isn't all that well matched either, but it's not as obvious or jarring as on the sandblasted body where the grain is so much more pronounced.
But, hey, looks are subjective - and I'd probably grow to love it if I had one. But the important thing is that YOU loved it at first sight and if the neck feels good to you (I'm a maple guy but that might be a pretty weird looking guitar with a maple fretboard!), will love playing it for years to come. Enjoy!
Congrats; I like it.
They do a tele too!
I really like that burst tho'! Congratulations on breaking the rules and winning the game!
Nice looking strat! I've always been somewhat surprised by the number of folks I've seen post that say they can't get a sound they like out of a strat… I've always loved the classic tones from them, and find them very enjoyable to play.
The sunburst is pretty!
.. I didn't like the red and blue ones they made recently
Were it not for headstock I might be ordering one myself right now. Beautiful
Ha ha ha!
I could well have added that to the list of cardinal rules I broke.
* Never get a Strat with the large, 1970's-style headstock.
But, somehow, it just works on this particular guitar.
Not sure why I like it so.
That's really cool - never knew they were making these.
Visually cool. But I'd be worried about scratching the finish.
I imagine this finish would age fairly gracefully...
Very cool! Congrats!
I had a custom Stratocaster built that has a Humbucker in the neck. I can get a world of wonderful tones out of it. It is my number one. Take that for what it is worth because I have only been playing about a year and a half. If the house was burning down I would grab it first followed by the Martin 000-28EC.
