It IS brand new … with a few dings, which I’d have put there anyway! I turned a few screws to take the pickguard off for set-up, and it felt as if they had never been turned since factory… now I know they HAD been turned, because Mimmo’s tech was busy with the guitar, but it feels so new! It’s my one new acquisition that I won’t crack open in order to see the neck and body stamps. Why mess with perfection? Fender Customer Service can tell me what year this baby is from… let the bolts stay where they are!

apart from getting my holy grail, my AVRI 62, this is the next telecaster Im actually hunting! I love early spec telecasters! the AV64 is proving harder to find here in oz!

    Congrats!

Nice grain in that one. The '64's have the sweetest pickups (my opinion) of the 52, 58 and 64. The only mod I made is dumping the threaded saddles which is just one of my whimseys. Enjoy.

My dear friend, I am so happy for you @RadioFM74 ! :)
Nice review indeed! Yes, make it yours, low the action to your preference, play it to death and enjoy (for years and years...) the beautiful sounds she is capable of.
I have good news for you: I forgot to tell you that I took a few pics of the stamps (I am almost 100% sure - sorry but it is 6 AM now, can't remember exactly ), later today I will send them. You know, when I buy used I ask Fender about the guitar so I may also have the confirmation email.
Waiting for the coffee now, you know... o_Oo_Oo_O
Great pic of my baby, it may sound crazy but I feel some GAS....I told you it would be happened! :D:D

Enjoy this great telecaster, I am so happy that she is in your hands now! Congrats!!

    Very nice! Congrats.

I have the same guitar/color, as well as the AV '65 Strat (in gold with a matching head). Incredible guitars, both of them.

If you do get rid of the stock guard, I would be interested in purchasing it for a build I'm working on.

There was beautiful AVRI 62 in sea foam green in a shop nearby, and I’ll bet it’s still there. Beautiful. If I loved slender necks, it would be with me now. If you’re interested I can inquire if it’s still there, although shipping costs will be pretty stiff!

Thanks for the pics if you find them. Fender replied and said “November 2016”. It’s the newest of all my Fenders, and the lightest at ≈ 3.4 kg.

I know the GAS feeling, but that 60s you have at home is also a total beauty!

AV64 and AV 65 are one hell of a couple!
About the pickguard, I’ll never get rid of the original. Even if I change it to 1-ply, the original 3-ply will be lovingly stored away and swapped back in when I feel like it ;D

Pics already sent, check your email :);)
I was not too far, I guessed 3.3 kg. It is strange but for the very first time I have no seller remorse: I am truly happy that you got this tele! Enjoy my friend!!

    i can imagine shipping costs!!

but I already have two 62’s. One avri and one daphne blue fender japan 62 loaded with avri 64 pickups.

the av64 is the only tele that I want next.

loved that guitar the couple times I got to play one. A guitar that you simply cannot go wrong with and it has a real personality

Nice guitar! The AV '64s were my favorite of all the 2012-2017 AV line models.

When I had about 3 of these I put a 1 ply guard one one of them. It looks wrong on a '64 style with pearloid dots.

I’ve played it a bit tonight and it’s an AMAZING guitar. I am in love.

Funny thing is that the Fender rep who replied to my query about the date of production could not help but write "Enjoy, the 64 reissue is one of my favorites!” :D

That’s a beautiful AV64! I love the white blond finish on those. And a BF Tremolux?!?! I’ve got the same setup, I fall in love everting I plug in.

When I was searching for an AV64 in white blonde I ended up grabbing a Wildwood AV64 in Inca Silver. Couldn’t find any white blondes available.

Congrats on an awesome purchase. Don’t sell her! They are definitely keepers.

if I had keep only one guitar and one amp, it’d be the AV64 tele and my ‘65 Tremolux!
