Congratulations, a great looking guitar. I own an American Special (predecessor to the Performer) and it is my current favorite Fender guitar in my possession.

Good score dude. Looks like a real winner. I like the Humbucker in the neck position. Enjoy your new instrument.

this guy hasn’t taken my strat’s place as top dog but it is a nice compliment and I love the different tones I get from it especially the bridge pickup. I’ve always felt like strat bridge pickups were lacking but I could get the tone I wanted by tweaking the eq. With the tele it was such a nice “in your face” tone with bass backing it up from the start. It’s quite something

Didn't like the humbucker sound as it was (too warm n dull for my tastes).
Didn't like the vol change going from single to humbucker.
Didn't like the push/pull. Pref S1 if you have to have a switch.
Didn't like the new style tuners. Had 2 replaced under warranty and another was also a bit sloppy. Also the hole down the middle is too big and makes the thin strings fall out when changing them. I do luv proper vintage tuners, tho.
Had a badly cut nut that had to be replaced under warranty, also.
    Didn't like the jumbo frets.
Tried every combination and permutation of single/hum pickups and wiring, but couldn't get the sound I wanted.
Gave up on it, and sold it.

Haha... just a few issues :)

Later I had another thought of how to do a good single/hum Tele, so I bought a Player and wired it with just Vol and Blend knobs (no switch), and with the right pups/wiring, it worked out just perfect.
Really happy with the sound now, and I like the feel of the Player better than the Performer. Like the neck better, like the frets better, like the bridge better, etc.

    Just IMO.
