NGD: American Original '60s Tele

    I had a 2018 version of one of these in Fiesta Red a little while back, but I never really loved that color on it and was looking into having it refinished. I was even kicking around the idea of having it refinished, but ended up selling it to fund something else (as always).

    One of my favorite finishes that was considering was Burgundy Mist, so when I saw that the 2020 American Original line had Burgundy Mist as a finish option, I decided to jump on it as I was really happy with the 2018 that I had other than the color. I actually ordered this a few months ago, but there is a wait on them and it finally showed up a few days ago.

    I like the neck on this one a little better than my previous one as I think it's just a hair chunkier. I also really love the stock pickups, particularly the neck pickup.

    Oh my....

    I’ve been lusting after LPB version and had no ideas BM was an option. I also liked BM on a Strat. I’m going to have to rethink this now!

    I was prepared to sort of not like this thing, and then you went all double-bound and beautiful neck on me, and hey, congrats! That is some fine telecaster-ness.

    The LPB one is maybe the most visually stunning production Tele Fender has done since I started playing guitar 18 years ago.

    Yeah, the dark, dark, dark color of the board wood makes all the difference in the world. All the difference. Looks great.

    If any of you are out there, thinking about getting one of these and the board wood is pale, refuse it; send it back. Do what you have to do.
