I really like that guitar. Almost inbetween my BSB and white blonde. I know you have the AO60 in BMM too and now this..? Something tells me you have an AMAZING collection! ;)
Yup and quite a few others. Getting my collection of guitars I won't sell together haha Actually have a NGD post to do. Just need to take some pics.

Yes, I'm legit interested in seeing your collection. Even more so that 'never gonna sell' collection! Keep me posted!

Oh my, oh my... I'm poor now.
After finally buying my dream american original 60s tele about a month ago, I truly wanted to finish my tele set by adding the 50s variant of this model. I actually managed to find one new with a small discount about 110 kilometres from my house! It wasn't as hard to find as the AO60 though 😅
At first I was worried due to alot of comments about a truly fat neck but when I held it, it felt just fine. I know they can vary quite a bit but mine is only like 1,5 mm thicker than my AO60s neck at both the 1st and 12th fret.
I actually saw a used CS 52 nos white blonde tele that I could have easily bought with the money for these 2 but... now I have both a double bound 60s tele and 50s tele with laquer, 9.5 radius and near CS level build quality according to the forums. So I'm not too worried.
On my 60s I had some more issues, installed a 4-way and compensated brass saddles. The 50s will stay as is!
Also funny how my 60s has a noticeably more tinted neck than the 50s, which you can tell on some pictures..?
I’ve never gotten a chance to try the 50’s AO. But now that you’ve got both, if you could only keep one….60’s AO or 50’s AO???

I feel like my 50s is a better specimen from fender than my 60s.
However, I dreamt about owning that 60s whereas the 50s was more an addition to ´finish the set´ in my head.
The 60s is also alot rarer and has a more mellow tone which I prefer.

I like both, but I'd go with the 60s If I had to pick just one. It has more to do with looks/rarity/specs than quality or 'better or worse' because they're on par.
My 60s has a tinted neck, like a pro II. My 50s is pale, like a player. I prefer it tinted.
+1 for the 60s again. (I'll add pic for comparison)

But sometimes, for the right song I really like the brighter, snappier, yet still warm sounding 50s for sure. And it feels great. No sticky laquer, good fat neck, not as edgy due to lack of binding, ...

Which brings me to my conclusion: I could do with just one, but they're quite different. Enough for me to justify having one of each.
However, 60s would be my pick: rarer, what I dreamt of and more of a mellow sound.

We were discussing how we prefer white/vintage/... blonde over bsb.
I went to compare the AO50s to my bsb player special edition (with cs 51 pick ups) after that and was actually suprised to see what a massive difference in color there was. My player is almost yellow, the AO is brown.
Same neck tint though, AO is only slightly less pale in person.

Not sure what I prefer but here are some pics;

I'm on it! This is where I stop buying guitars and I mean it. I can see myself swapping, but not adding guitars. Next big investment would be a great amp. I currently use the boss katana artist mk2 which is great for it's multipurpose ability but I definitly want something with more 'soul' one day if it makes any sense.
“This is where I stop buying guitars and I mean it” Care to place a wager on that? 😆

Happy NGD! That’s a nice find, indeed. Good luck on your quest for the great amp too, but just remember that “Soul” is all in the fingers.

Me personally I prefer the AO 50s look. Nice grain and the shade is less in your face. Everyone has different tastes though. That's why there's so many Teles to pick from!

I'm actually quite serious about it. I'll most likely buy more in my life but it could take a loooong time. I could see myself swap my teles for 1 CS tele. I could see myself swap my strat ultra for an AVII '61... But other than that I'm set for now!

I personally prefer it as well, but most of my family for example prefers the more yellow tint BSB!
Definitly more grain!

Your rack lineup looks a lot like mine! Congrats on the new "full figured" Tele. I love having a couple of fatties around. Really like the "Modern C" profile too, but a fat neck feels great, especially for rhythm and chording.

Oh yeah, my ultra feels amazing. And so do my players. And the pro II I had was pretty much perfect. But these 60s and 50s necks just fill my hand nicely!
