Welcome all,

This post might very well be illegal here but it does contain tele and I just really like this place! ;)

I own a fender strat ultra in Texas Tea but after I bought a new AO60s tele in burgundy mist around New Years, I barely played it. A few weeks back I found a brand new AO50 tele which I went and bought to finish my 50s-60s tele collection. Now the ultra strat did nothing but gathering dust. Which is weird as I think it's a fantastic looking and playing guitar!

However, something about these american original series got to me! The vibe, the feels, the custom-shop-like specs, ... So I went looking for a 60s strat. A 50s was fine too but I only wanted the white blonde American Original (or AVII in Vintage blonde but I do prefer 9.5 radius). None to be found anywhere.

However, a big store went out of business a while back and recently held an auction to sell the remaining stock. There was 1 American Original in that auction, which happened to be the white blonde AO50s strat. I bid and got it brand new for €1200 (excluding taxes that is). Seems like a good deal to begin with + I can't find them anywhere anymore.

My ultra is now officially for sale. I'm still looking for a 60s strat to complete my 50s-60s tele/strat "collection" but I absolutely want it to be in Burgundy Mist which just isn't an option for now... I'm secretly hoping the AVII 1961 strat gets released in that colour!

Here's some pictures of it as well as some pictures with "the gang".

Whoops, should've taken a better look before posting! If a mod sees this: feel free to move it to a better suited category!
Nah, just leave it here. After all, it’s your NGD, so you deserve some slack. I have an AO60s in sunburst and love everything about it. The burgundy mist is killer with that white binding. The only thing I did on mine was install stepped brass saddles for slightly better intonation, but the originals are still in the case. Happy NGD!

Thanks!
Yeah, mine had compensated brass saddles and a fender 4-way switch installed as well. Loving that guitar!

I do really like it. I tried another one in aztec gold in the store where I bought my AO50 tele. That neck was too thick but I'm happy this one is a bit slimmer!
I can't wait for my 60s strat now!
I have the exact same guitar which I purchased new, Its a keeper :)

I absolutely love it. Its also one of those finishes that just looks better in person...

I'll find out for myself before too long :)

Yesterday, after thinking about that color a little bit more, I went ahead and ordered a couple of cans of Mohawk Toner - one can of "White-Wash" and one can of "Antique White" toner

I've used Mohawk Toner in the "Blond" color before, and it does a great looking Butterscotch Blond color, but this time I'm looking for more of a White Blond color

I'm getting ready to do a White Blond hard-tailed Strat build using an unusual one-piece Swamp Ash blank

I'm going with the big and deep body contours that some of the earlier Stratocasters had, and I'm thinking about using a big piece of quartersawn Pau Ferro that I have to build the vintage-style one-piece neck

The Mohawk Toners are a diluted lacquer mixture that allow you to put on very light coats of transparent color and gradually build them up to reach your preferred degree of color

That White-Blond finish really does look good!

I don't know much about paint/laquer but I'm excited to see the end result for sure!
I do like a buttersctoch blonde but white blonde is so much nicer to me both on a strat and tele.
I can see myself selling my BSB 50s tele for another one in white blonde if they release one...
