In early August 2020, I had exactly zero semi-hollow body guitars. I have several Gretsch full hollows and a Casino that I very much enjoy, but no semis. I used to own an Epi Sheraton, played really great but sounded like absolute crap. Decided to sell rather than mod.

Around my birthday in August 2020, I decided to purchase a modded Starcaster from @BorderRadio. Really have enjoyed it, seemed to scratch the semi-hollow itch by itself for a while.

Then on a whim, I ordered a Rivolta Regata. SUPER nice guitar, really plays amazing. I also have a Rivolta Combinata and just love how their guitars look, play and sound.

THEN....I tripped upon a good deal on one of the new Epi Rivieras. Again, super nice guitar, sounds amazing, quality is absolutely top-notch. And I've usually not liked Epi's chinese-made stuff, but the last year or two they have changed up things and the quality on this one matches anything one could want.

So I'm all set right? I'm really a Tele guy--I have 8 Teles/Esquires, so don't kick me out of the club.

But I found myself perusing Epi Nick Valensi sig guitars, made in Korea in the early 2000s. Apparently Valensi played a Korean-made Riviera that he dropped P94s into, so the sig is just that--a Korean-made Riviera w/P94s.

Prices on these have skyrocketed, but I found a fairly decent deal and decided to go for it. Has some very subtle flame on the front and some not-so-subtle flame on the back. Again the quality on this Peerless-made guitar is just outstanding, much like my Peerless-made Casino. And the pickups sound great! Plays super smooth, neck feels great to me. And it's in pretty great condition.

I think I'm done for a while. But I said that after the Starcaster. And the Regata. And the 1st Riviera.

So who knows, eh?

That looks great! I've also been on the semi bandwagon and Epi really makes good ones at lower cost. My new Riviera is fantastic. So much so I sought out and bought a Peerless one too..

Yeah I've been a fan of Peerless Epis ever since I got my Casino. Really like all that I've tried. And yes the new ones from Epiphone are surprisingly good feeling. Way, way better than just a few years ago. Glad you're enjoying yours!

Yessir! She's a looker!

I'm really liking the Gibson P94s in it too. I haven't A/B'd it with the Casino or any other P90 guitars, but on its own it sounds really good, for both rock and atmospheric stuff with loads of reverb.

My Teles are going to get jealous! I swear I'm done though!

I'm a big fan of the Strokes and that guitar Nick uses is beautiful! Although, I usually find myself playing Albert's parts, Nick has a very unique style that is fun to attempt emulating!

I like The Strokes just fine, but really don't have any interest in sig guitars at all, so that was a non-factor for me here. I just really like the finish/tone on this, and the mix of semi-hollow and P94 pickups.

The pricing has gotten kinda stupid on these, and while I got a good deal I think, it was still more than what I would normally pay for something like this. But I have to say, it really plays great. The quality is there for sure.
