This is the craziest thing. I've never bought two guitars in such a short period of time. But just 3 or 4 weeks after buying my AO60's Tele I've bought an AO60's Strat! I loved the neck on the Tele so much that I decided to sell off a couple other guitars and go the same direction for a Strat as well. Also, the quality on the AO Tele is so high that I figured the Strat has to be dang good as well. So for 2020 Candy Apply Red has been discontinued and replaced by Shell Pink. Not really feeling any enthusiasm for a pink, white, or sunburst guitar, I searched out and found a retailer with a CAR online. And the bonus is that since they're last year's model they're still at last year's price! Another crazy thing - this guitar is brand new (straight from the dealer) but it has a V17 serial number. Curious, as I disassembled the guitar to do a full setup after it arrived today I found that the neck is stamped Sept 11, 2017 and the body is stamped April 22, 2017! Fender didn't even announce the AO series until January of 2018 at NAMM. So... this guitar was made many months before the series was even announced and it's probably been sitting in the back of a warehouse for a good part of the past 3 years. So after several hours of tweaking (this is why I prefer Teles) I finally got it dialed in. The only flaw I can find in the guitar is a couple of the pick guard screws were kinda off target and screwed it at an angle. Other than that, it's flawless. Sounds great, looks great, is great! Weighs 7.76 lbs and it's about perfect.
