@DrBreezus does yours have a bit of a “shelf” at the heel join? It is quite slight, but mine does.
Very nice. Congratulations & enjoy!
The "shelf" on mine:
My other Teles don't have this.
Very nice, congrats! I’ve been dying to get my hands on one. My local shop is supposed to email me when they get them later this month. Enjoy!

yes mine does
So much want
Hey, I got one of these yesterday too. Fantastic guitar. No regrets.
It's very light. I'm guessing they intentionally picked light boards.
I'm loving the neck - U shaped and thick - which I like.
7 1/4 radius neck - which is fine. Some people my not like that.
It cost me about $1800 plus tax where I am (6%), so out the door price was around $1999 .. something like that. Which is the list on Fender's site so that's ok.
I don't mind my local shop making money - that's why they're in business for.
The G&G Tweed case if fantastic. That's like a $300 value.
Case candy includes a really nice leather strap, the ashtray, and an instrument cable.
I'm no expert on Broadcasters, but in "The Blackguard Book" Nacho talks about the lip on p394 as a feature that was reduced in mid 1953, reappeared in 1954 and was adjusted in late 1955. I guess Fender put it on the 70th Anniv as a period correct feature.
Cool. Makes me love it more. Just been playing mine to my drum tracks for my band set rehearsing. Sound F brill.
Great and congratulations
PS don't forget to join the club thread with pics.
All of my 51 no casters from the custom shop have the shelf too. I was concerned about it until they told me that’s how it was back then.
Stupid newb question:
how does the neck profile compare to a 50s Vintera?
These threads are great to reassure me about the one I ordered, but they're making it way harder to wait for it.
Enjoy in good health!
It's fantastic guitar. No regerts whatsoever!
Awesome, congrats man!! I have my name on one, looking forward to it!
Uh-oh! They are in stock at Sweetwater. As I was browsing someone chose a 9 pounder over 2 7 pounders and an 8. I keep having to remind myself that I absolutely don't need another guitar. Besides, I could build 2 REALLY nice guitars for 2 grand. And those grapes were probably sour anyway.
good chap keep yourself in check. I’m having to explain an unplanned hole in the budget and promising to fill it by selling “guitars I’m not playing now”.
I picked one that is 7lbs even...............
I'm eyeballin the one that's 7 lbs, 3 oz. Hopefully someone buys it soon. They have sold two of them in the last hour or so. I wonder if these will sellout pretty quickly. If one comes along under 7 pounds I might not be able to resist.
