Having not had a Tele for 30 years, I recently went out looking for a vintage Strat, but came home with thiis. Nice and light, only changed parts are switch and one tuner.

Sweet guitar! I love the rosewood board with that body/pickguard combo.

Wow! That is quite a find!
    Congratulations.
Is that an Olympic white that yellowed, a true blonde or a white blonde that yellowed?

That's as good as it gets. Love to see what it looks like under the pickguard.

    [IMG]Thanks for the kind comments.
The last Tele I had was also a 66, sunburst, borrowed and it was always a regret that when the owner offered it to me for £180, I didn't have the money

Colour (Color!!) is blonde. It plays beautifully, really resonant and twangy, straight neck and low action. No image of under the pick guard, but I did have a look and there were no nasty surprises other than the changed switch. It is away having a refret as the originals beyond dressing. I'm looking forward to getting it back next week.

Nice. Besides rosewood and neck shape, what's the main difference (sound wise) between '50's and '60's Telecasters?.

I think that's a true blonde. I have an Oly White '66 and it's a lot lighter than this one.

If it doesn't have threaded bridge saddles, then those have been changed too.

The seller described it as blonde. Bridge saddles are threaded, just the photos are not great. Has the ashtray cover too. Something else to lose!

Great Tele GuyR. Count me as another fan of the rosewood boards. I have a blonde/rosewood 66 but mine is far from original!

She's a beauty. My '66 looks pretty much identical. One of my favorite features is the unpotted bridge pickup--microphonic in the best way.

Nothing wrong with player grade!! I have one or two of those myself.

Thanks again for all the kind replies. I'm looking forward to getting down to business with it when I collect it.

Mine is defiantly a player! I've had it since '72 so it was just an old guitar when I got it. I've modded and refinished it many times and I still love playing it! I hope you enjoy yours as much!
