Picked up this cracker the day and it's excellent didn't think anything could beat my 52 tone wise but this thing has it all tone playability and looks!

    Welcome to the club.
I go back and forth between the '52 and '64 as all time favorite.
I will say the '64, out of the box is a better player.

I have yet to figure that out. The white blondes seem to vary slightly somewhat in color. My 64 is more biege whereas. 62 thinskin I owned for awhile was white. Also some are more opaque than others. You can still see the grain through them in either case.

To blackguardstu, congrats! It's a beautiful guitar and a joy to play. The 64s have a great feel and awesome tone!!

    Congrats, 64stu... er...

Good choice, sir. It's a beauty.

These are the best Tele on the market in my opinion. That doesn't stop me from buying all the others, of course...

I haven't seen a 64 so transparent. Looks a lot like my PV58, with the opaque edges.

Congratulations! Mine is a very special guitar. Easy to play too. I've got it up for sale at the mo, as I wanted to invest the cash in various other arguably more useful things...but I played it today and wow, it's just got a gorgeousness that no guitar I've ever owned has had. It's something to do with the lightness of the wood and the thickness of the neck and the smell of the lacquer and the twang of the pickups. Oh dear...

All I can think when I play mine is "I wonder when they'll discontinue it?"

The '64 is almost too good to be true.

Does anyone know (Fred?), is there a particular PV Strat that's better than the others? The '65? The '56?

I don't usually prefer rosewood on a Tele, but it looks nice on that guitar. Congrats!

Yep, the AV64s are cream of the crop.

Rosewood with white blonde is just a classic combination! Colors aside, it is just a fine instrument. I have been playing mine most of the weekend and it's just a great feeling and sounding guitar. I still prefer a flatter radius and larger frets but it's hard to dislike the AV64. I was very close to buying another one.
