It's been a little bit, but the first chance I've had to post my new baby up here. I traded a Guild acoustic/electric bass and some cash for this 2011 '60th Anniversary model Fender Telecaster. It had an odd snakeskin pick guard installed, but the original Fender black guard came in the case, so I swapped it in and did a quick setup to adj action/intonation. Plays/looks/sounds great, so a keeper for now. It's got a few character marks, so definitely not a case queen and will see some service now. Here's a few pix, including one with the snake PG: (it's just not me, so PM me if you want it - I'll make you a good deal LOL)

    Very nice! Congrats and enjoy!

"a keeper for now" This made me chuckle though. A good example of knowing thyself. :D

Good score and yes the black looks better. I've played ne , went back the next day, it was sold. Very good sounding Telecaster.

That snakeskin pickguard was a hideous thing, much better now.

Congrats and yes, very nice. Like you, I prefer the black p-g. I've got a 60th Tele in Olympic White with a tort p-g, also no case queen. And, not that it was planned, I've got a 60th Strat LE in Vintage White.

Thanks! Yeah, I've had enough guitars pass through my hands to be realistic. If something comes along years down the road, nothing is "sacred" and may be sacrificed to fund a new axequisition!

All 2011 Telecasters got the 60th anniversary neck plate, but not all with the plate were a “60th Anniversary Model”.

That's a BEAUTIFUL guitar you've got there bblooz.

I had a same year Tele I picked up in a pawnshop a few years back for $461.

I had intended on keeping it, but some guy on CL was selling a '75 Fender Mocha strat that I just HAD to have.

I contacted him and when it was all said and done, we did and even trade.

I know the Tele was a looker, but I figured 10+ years down the road, the Mocha strat would be worth WAY more.

I have 50+ guitars in my collection, and like you, nothing is "sacred", and may be sacrificed to fund another guitar.

Here's the '11 Fender Telebration Tele I had.
