This arrived today. Created by Fender Masterbuilder Jason Smith. I just love pale blonde Telecasters.

    Cool!
55 is my favorite Tele year.
    I had a 55 Esquire, 40 years ago.
    Congratulations!

Ha and thank you...the Collings D 42 in the background.

Yes that Collings is a favorite for sure. I am told, from a very reliable source, that it was the last D 42 Bill signed before his death. The back and sides are perfectly straight Madagascar rosewood sets that had been at the factory for awhile...awaiting the right guitar. The top is wide grain Adirondack and the whole thing is finished in super thin varnish, rather than nitro lacquer. Needless to say, it plays like a dream and has a pleasing tone...:)

The Jason Smith Tele is a real screamer too. Played a short organ jazz gig this afternoon with it; 1960's Blue Note tunes. It just was such a comfortable guitar to play and had such a nice tone. Really sang through a black face Deluxe Reverb Amp. Kenny Burrell and Grant Green made alot of those records with P 90 pickups. The Tele bridge can really comp that vibe.

I dig it. Had to change the bridge but I’m enjoying it. Thanks for asking!
