I always wanted one of these since getting the 50's American Original. More accurate 50's specs. It's also interesting how they compare, the difference is like night and day. The fourth pic shows the colour differences between the AV and the AO:
When at the seller's house, I contemplated selling my AO after purchasing the AV. Got home... nope, keeping both! They are two completely different guitars, the only similarities are that they're the same shape, same pickguard and pickups look the same.
Tone pot crackled and jumped around in value as you turn it. Got home and applied CRC 2-26, smoothed out the feel of the pots, but now the tone pot isn't working at all! I'll try something else if I can before I replace it, trying to keep the original.

    Great guitars. Enjoy. Indeed.

Perfect excuse to over-spray the "orange" AO! Oly White would be nice.

Congratulations to you. Hopefully you square away the pot issue. I have a '52 AVRI myself, it's my go-to guitar, love EVERYTHING about it.

I like my AO a lot but yeah, they got the colour wrong. Way too orangey.

    Congratulations and Happy NGD!

I'd be happy with either color, I think they both look great - classic!

Enjoy your purchase, I think the color to the guitar on the left is more traditional, thus personslly I prefer it. About the tone pot, I just think the lubricant nullified your use of it. Maybe some elecyric circuit boatd cleaner from an electrical supply may clear up the issue ...... may. Of not install a new pot.

Congratulations, I kind of miss mine. The best pickups and neck on any Telecaster that I’ve owned.

    Enjoy.

I've used circuit board cleaner, too gooey thus damaged my toggle switch on another guitar. My advice to anyone is stay away from circuit board cleaners for guitar electronics.

When I purchased this, (I think) I had a chance to buy an 88 AVRI 52. Specs on that were very different, also a much heavier guitar. Still a great guitar though in it's own right.

    Sold it.

I prefer heavier guitars and I’m pretty happy with my American Professional Telecaster.
