Had 2 of these for a while. I think they're excellent guitars. And very good looking too. I personally love the tinted neck!

Received from Fender yesterday, opened today. First American tele, decided why not make it the original one. Very impressed with the set up out of the box as well as the fit and finish. Just needed tuning, intonation is as good as possible. Neck is big as expected and fills my hand perfectly. Pickups are very well balanced played through my '68 Princeton RI. Very happy.
Looks quite nice. Is the body more like the front pic or the back pic…which seems less yello? 👍

Very nice guitar! I wonder, did Fender find a new source for ash? I seem to remember them announcing that they weren’t going to use ash for bodies anymore, but that certainly looks like a nice ash body.

Congrats! I have an American Original 50s which is almost identical apart from the board radius. Superb guitars.

Only thing missing from that model is the original three-way wiring with the neck pickup blender; not quite period-correct with a modern 3-way and for $2300, Fender ought to be ashamed of themselves charging that much money and boasting 'period-correct'...
Why? So everybody has to mod it to modern 3-way themselves? ‘Cause nobody wants the original wiring….. 😎😉

Congrats!

Minuscule detail question:
Does that have the 1/8" radius edges on the body like the original models from this era?

Beautiful instrument! I have the new AV2 62 Strat and am as pleased as you are with the fit and finish. Congratulations, may you enjoy it for many years.

enjoy it! i have a 52 from the first "American Vintage" line, and it is aging very gracefully after years of playing it.

You can't go wrong with those. The neck profile is a tad larger than I like, but not a dealbreaker. Awesome!
That’s how I feel about my AVRI ‘52. If only the neck weren’t so chunky, but still an awesome axe.

I think just about everybody who bought an AVRI changed it to modern wiring. I sure did. Fender probably figured it wasn’t worth it this time around.
