Got this beauty last weekend and all I can say it's a fantastic guitar. Well done, Mr. Mayer.
It's the classic OM 28 shape from Martin but with some little changes. It comes with an Engelmann spruce top and a changed bracing also with an alternative neck joint. A Fishman pickup system is already installed. The neck spacing is more narrow, I think 1 11/16.
The fit, craftmanship, the whole guitar is built perfect, nothing to criticize.
It plays like butter, has an increased sustain (more than any acoustic I played before) and a very good bass response. The highs are somehow rounded in a musical way, sounds a little bit less bright than the classic rosewood spruce combination. I like it a lot. The guitar is perfect for strumming, solos and finger picking. The hardcore fingerstyle player might look for a wider fretboard but for my needs as an attendant guitar to me singing songs it's the ultimate weapon.
