So, I was chatting with Norm from Norman's Rare Guitars about a used one he had listed on Reverb when he told me he found a new one in the back that was still sealed in the original Fender box!

    I decided I couldn't pass it up!

It's nearly perfect. Aside from needing a good setup, it looks like the crushed velvet from the case has put some marks in the finish on the back and a bit on the top. What's the best way to take care of that?

Neck is 0.914" at the 1st fret and 1.005" at the 12th. I couldn't possibly be happier about this neck!

7-1/4" radius feels incredible. So far, the rolled fingerboard edges aren't bothering me in the least.

And this thing sings. It's very resonant acoustically and sounds amazing plugged straight into my amp.

The only mod of any sort I'm considering right now is a set of compensated brass saddles. Not because it needs a lot of help with intonation as much as I really prefer saddles with slots. The string spacing is kind of wonky right now. LOL

Congrats. I have a '96 and keep going back to it.

I wonder what else has been forgotten in the back....

Nice score. I finally made it in to Norms a couple of weeks ago. Very unpretentious place...nice people there.

Yeah, even though correspondence was through Reverb, I thought they did a great job taking care of me. Super responsive, answered all my questions, and threw in a t-shirt!

A very good full pro set up would take care of everything without modifying anything for now.. have it in for a pro set up, fret dressed, leveled and crowned, and enjoy it in good health..

if you still want to change parts after that, its entirely up to you for experimentation.. but getting my guitars professionally serviced, all the thoughts of modding vanished and I started to enjoy the guitar as it is..

Try Novus #2. But pictures could help to understand better what you want to "take care of"

The rolled fingerboard is for sure a positive feature, feels much better than the non rolled ones.
