    Thin bodied Les Paul

It appears these were somewhat maligned along with many of the 2015 Gibsons when they came out. Many Gibson purists didn't like the robo tuners, wide fretboard, brass zero fret, the scrawl on the headstock, and gold case they came in.

The build quality is fantastic. I really like how it plays and love the way it sounds. 57 Classic neck 57 Plus bridge pups. The wide fretboard actually helps with some of my sloppy technique. (Not that there is an excuse for sloppy technique) The previous owner claimed this guitar never had the G Force robo tuners, but I'm not sure how that claim can be proved.

It was fun reading through old message board posts about these. The older posts are mostly, "no no no" and as time went on more turned to, "I actually kind of like it."

It has some really nice grain in the top, but I had a hard time getting it to show up in photos. The color is desert burst.

It's kind of like a LP and SG got together and had a baby. :D

I started looking at a light weight Sweetwater exclusive LP Tribute, but they sold out. It had fretboard inlays but no neck or body binding.

Then I clicked on a Zzounds banner ad here on TDPRI and found their exclusive Lite model, but $1799 was more than I wanted to spend. The additional research led me to the Lite models and eventually this 2015 Less+ model.

Not going to lie, I like having something a little "different". :) I couldn't find another TDPRI thread about this model.

    Nice guitar!
My friend John R has one.
It has a nice, wide neck (1 3/4 inch).

Yes, because of Less wood for the body. They did + some wood to the fretboard though. :D

Nice guitar. Not seeing the SG reference though. Can't tell from the pics but assume there's no maple top?

Nice guitar! I had a thin-bodied Epi Les Paul about 15 years ago, it was a great take on a LP. With regard to the robotuners--not sure if this model qualified, but the reception was so poor that Gibson shipped out regular tuners to dealers to swap out, so many of them were swapped out before they were sold, even if they left the factory with robotuners.

Either way, it is a great looking guitar!

That’s a bloody nice looking guitar dude. And if it feels good and plays well, then you’re onto a winner!

I can’t tell from the pics - has it got a slightly carved top?

I reckon the OP is comparing the thickness of the body.

It does have a maple cap on a mahogany body. The SG reference was meant to be a joke about the thickness of the body.

They sure seem to get a lot of hate, but I actually like the G-Force and find it very useful.

I've got 3 of the 2015 Les Paul models with the G-Force tuners: a Less+ P-90 and a Deluxe in goldtop, and a Studio in Desert Burst. Matter of fact, I'm taking the Deluxe to use at an audition this morning with my Blues Cube Artist. No pedalboard, straight into amp. The Deluxe has coil splits and a 20 dB boost built in (which I have set for about 12 dB) and sounds great with the BCA. The G-Force works great and I can call up open tunings for slide quickly. I'm actually looking for another like the OP`s but gold top. Jerry Donahue did a mini tour review of the Deluxe, and it is one of my favorites, good all-around axe. :D

Thanks for clarifying, by the way what is the purple guitar in your avatar?

I am happy to hear that you like it, congrats!

She is a beauty for sure but for whatever reason I have not been able to play it without getting cramps at the left hand. Enjoy yours in good health.

I get it. It is the handwriting of the man himself if that helps at all.

There is beauty in it. It's not for everyone but luckily people have a choice.
