Couldn't sleep one night and got myself in trouble by making an offer on a 2008 SG Classic that the buyer surprisingly accepted.

Guitar arrived earlier today. 12 years old without a mark on it, set up is spot on; minimal relief, low action and just plays great. Just needs some new strings. Definitely a departure from the Tele but sounds great in it's own right.

I had one of these several years ago and foolishly sold it, and am really happy I was able to score another one. Besides the awesome P90's, the thing that seals the deal for me on these is the chunkier neck. I've had several SG Standards and could never bond with the slim profile neck.

This one's definitely going to give my Tele a run for it's money!

Wow that's a beauty, congrats! Curious, what distinguishes it from a Special?

    Lovely.

These are superb, especially for the money. Proper binding and all.

    Mine is staying!

I can recommend a harness upgrade. The weak spot on these is the cost cutting electronics. The tuners are cheap too but I’ve found they work well enough.

If you are playing full volume and tone settings it doesn’t matter but if you want to roll back and retain top end a la Pete Townsend, it won’t do it without a change.

Congrats! That's a very nice guitar and looks like it's in mint condition which is impressive for a 12 year old guitar. I'm sure you'll get a lot of enjoyment playing that beauty!

That is a beauty! SGs are really starting to grow on me. I might have to start looking for a P90 junior...

I can't believe after (now) 45 years of guitar playing, I never even touched one, even in a music store, until a player/collector buddy of mine bought a used '62 SG RI now maybe 10 years ago.

I always though SG's looked cool, but my head would always gravitate towards Les Pauls, 335's in my own interest...

In the last 4-5 years I just fell in love with his, so comfy and great tone( into a '68 Super Reverb!). I never wanted to play any of his other great guitars, when I'd come over for BBQ jams, after meeting the SG,.

I decided that I would get one of the newer, improved Epi SG's ( can't afford a Gibson) as soon as I could get the money together, which was this year!

So I got a '66-style Epi SG Pro and it knocks me out how well-put-together, comfy, great sounding this guitar is.

Can't believe it took so long - IMO an SG is the ' perfect Gibson for a Fender player!'

That is a perfect guitar. I guess good things happen to insomniacs every now and then! LOL. Actually I've seen different colors of SGs on this board as of late, but your color is the classic color that I always think of in an SG. Great score, congrats.
