I was on the hunt for a guitar that was lightweight, has some character (look and tone-wise), and would not deplete my savings. This one ticked all the boxes. I'm in the honeymoon phase, but I hope it never ends. I didn't anticipate liking the EMGs (81 bridge, 85 neck) but they are more versatile and organic than most seem to give them credit for. It's also my first Gibson! IMG_2682.jpg IMG_2683.jpg IMG_2684.jpg

    Nice.
First SG I picked up had 3 EMG's(81's) in it and it was awesome. Went back the next day with money to buy and it was gone.
Had an EMG 85 in a Strat copy(bridge), but didn't care for it as much.

The 85 supposedly works as a bridge pup too. It’s also alnico whereas the 81 is ceramic.

Lightweight, with a thin finish. All my favourite Gibsons meet these conditions.

    Looks like a beauty. :)
