A couple hours later, I got anxious someone else would buy it, so I pulled the trigger. Then, the wonderful seller said they would have accepted the $700 and Venmoed me $100 back. I’m pretty sure the pickups have been swapped out, and I want to restore it to its original specs, so I’ll be posting questions about it. It has a 4-position switch. If anyone has one of these, any info on what pickups it had and if it had a no-load tone pot stock would be most helpful.

    Hmmm, sparkles...

It's great! I wonder what a white pickguard would look like on it?

Are you sure that’s right? The three or four photos I’ve seen of this model online all consistently have staggered pole pieces on the bridge pup. Maybe that was a popular mod on these? Someone else told me they originally came with Custom Shop Texas Specials, which do have those staggered pole pieces.

Might you be thinking of the MIM 75th Diamond Anniversary one with the matching silver headstock and maple neck? Those had Vintage-Style 50s Telecaster pups.

I remember those! Guitar Center NOLA had one with a really big ding on the lower bout. I assume it had been dropped. The poly had broken and come off on a pretty large section and you could actually see a small bit of raw wood.
Must have been dropped off a ladder.
    Seriously.
They had a deep discount on it and I considered it for a few days. When I went back to have another look it had been sold.
Wasn’t meant to be in my case, but that one is absolutely meant to be with you.
    Congratulations.

There are a lot of silver sparkle ones with the white pickguard but they seek to have the maple neckband either a maple or matching silver sparkle headstock.

I don’t suppose you remember what pickups they had?
