Well here's an interesting NGD:

A 1982 or so Gibson Victory MVX.

100% Rock maple body and neck

Ebony fretboard

Gibson truss Rod nut

Nylon bridge saddle inserts

HHH configuration (center is stacked) with coil splitting. The humbuckers are unique in that one coil uses alnico Rod magnets just like a regular single coil.

Nitro finish.

Tuned down a full step right now with 12's.

Nice. How you like it? How's it play?

GC used? I feel like I saw that for sale somewhere online recently...

Craigslist wanted ad let it come to me. Plays like butter. Sounds like an amazing cross between a les Paul, super strat, and a Peavey T-60.

I'd really like to try one of those. I'm a pretty dyed in the wool classic guitar shapes chap but I have a sneaking feeling I'd really like that. It looks wonderfully made. The ebony board looks very classy indeed. I might see if I can find one to try somewhere as I have never seen one in the flesh.

Nice! I've always had a soft spot for these; they were really comfortable players. Back in the day one of the local Gibson dealers had one (back when I was living in Louisville) that I really liked.

Of course I've always liked oddball guitars - I had a Fender Lead II, I liked things like the Hamer Prototype, the Ovation UK II, the Yamaha SBG2000s, and Ibanez Artists.

Looks Great!

Crazy bridge!!!

CP.

Yep. Apparently they originally came with both nylon and brass bridge inserts. It has nylon right now, but I'm sure I could make some brass inserts from stock I can get at the on-campus architectural model and design supply store. I could even get steel, copper, and aluminum stock too.

What does the extra toggle do? Splits?

yes - pickup splitter. this guy explains everything. Warning: don't expect any playing.... there is no sound for a full 10 minutes then he goes through every single setting very briefly

Yep. The splits are the best split tones I've ever heard. The center has the spank of a good strat middle pickup, and the bridge and neck almost have a 60's tele pickup kind of vibe tone wise.

Cost me $800 with a new generic case, missing the original case and brass bridge inserts.

All original.
