Obviously you know how rare that color is - or were you looking for awhile and that's just the one where everything lined up ?

I mean, I think Sherwood green is common compared to Firemist gold !

    Crazy cool guitar.

That's one of those guitars that when I see it in a shop I start getting these crazy thoughts like "I bet I could disable that security camera by taking out the power then get a glass cutter then.."

    .....Must control thyself!!

    Seriously, congrats!

It's all original apart from a refinish by Clive Brown in the UK.

It was originally Firemist Gold - there is some of the original gold is still in the neck pocket - and then routed for a humbucker in the neck at some point. The route was filled and restored to the original colour by Clive. Luckily the owner didn't cut the guard and kept the neck pickup too so it was able to be restored to it's former glory.

Pots are Stackpole, dated late '64.

Absolute cannon of a guitar :)

Wow, Clive Brown does some killer work!

I don't I've ever seen that color on a Tele, but it works perfectly with the rosewood board.

Yeah, what a score! I bet it sounds amazing!

And Clive is the undisputed master when it comes to authentic finishing, he restored my `62 strat back to it`s original color fiesta red.

    Enjoy :)

The frets look totally clean. Was it refretted? If so, you should be good for years to come! That's a really nice-looking guitar and I hope you have the joy of it.

    Thanks bsman!

I think they are original, plenty of meat on them still - if not, it's been done with vintage spec wire and has been done VERY neatly indeed.

Super sexy guitar. I just recently purchased a Blonde 67 myself. It slays. What is the nut width on that guitar? I'm doing kind of an informal cataloging of nut width's from this period in Fender's history. Mine is a little tight at 41.25mm. But I play mandolin so it's not been a deal breaker for me.

    Thanks,

    MJ

    Thanks MJ!

Measuring the nut width with a ruler, I make it 42.5mm on this one.
