I'm sorry sir, but this thread deserves at least three exclamation points at the end of the title. Holy smokes!

lasrup......I agree to keep it stock standard without any mods for mods sake

If you experience any age degraded capacitor related hum or dropout issue, I am sure a trusted Luthier could resolve those issues and return the outgoing caps should you desire

That manufacturing code for the potentiometer shown is out series reference for Fender, the image also confirms the pots have flat-faced endcaps as opposed to semi dished ends, so these could be considered to have been replaced at some stage

lasrup......apologies, I certainly retract my comment that 304 - *** Series Coded pots were not of Fender usage

Your prior post got me thinking.... But I don't know the answer even after googling for a while....

I found early '59 Stackpole pots that have a flat back like on the OP's guitar; and mid 1960 pots that have the dished ring.

When exactly did Stackpole change from one style to the other?

The neck fits your hand like a glove. The neck pick up is muddy as you would expect, but the bridge has that snarl ,bite and twang - the classic tele sound.

Derek - Leo used what was available at the time.
Necks ,bodies ,neck plates etc were manufactured, but were assembled at different times to meet production targets .
